This ad Bacon put out is for name recognition. He makes himself appear approachable and just like any of us. He's as common as the bacon we all love to eat, or at least he tries to make himself seem as good as a greasy piece of bacon.
Social Media:
Don Bacon is on a multitude of social media sites but here are the most common:
Like on Facebook @RepDonBacon
Follow on Twitter @RepDonBacon

All of Bacon's social media platforms are there to help promote his name and build his image. He uses his social media sites as a way to inform the community about his campaign, but doesn't dive into the actual points he intends to argue.
Position Taking:
- Abortion is a major point that Bacon has taken a pro-life stance on. In his short time in congress here is some legislation he has sponsored or cosponsored:
- H.R.7 – No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act of 2017 (For more info click here)
- H.R.490 – Heartbeat Protection Act of 2017 (For more info click here)
- More on Bacon's Pro-life stance here:
- In 2016, Bacon responded to a questionnaire that he did not believe abortion should be legal in any case even "to prevent the death of the mother."
- "I’m 100% pro- life, endorsed by Nebraska Right to Life, and committed to support policies that protect the unborn and build a culture of life across our nation and the world.” - Don Bacon, 2016
- Bacon's involvement in committees is off to a good start. The area where he holds the most experience and credit is the House - Armed Services committee. He has cosponsored a few bills which show his constituents that he is making a difference within that sphere. Though he is important to the committee he isn't doing all the work but is to some extent reaping the benefits of the image that comes with being apart of this committee.
- At this point it is difficult to tell how much Bacon will spend on travel and franking because of his lack of time in office. Looking at the incumbent, Lee Terry, and neighboring states spending it provides a rough estimate on how much Bacon might spend in those areas.
- It would be reasonable to believe that Bacon would spend under $20,000 based on the graph.
- Franked mail is difficult to draw a conclusion from because in the past Nebraska's second congressional district has spent less on franking.
