2018 Prediction:

Do you want more Bacon in the future? Looking at past elections, the chances of Don Bacon being reelected in 2018 are high. In the last election, Brad Ashford, a democrat won the election. A democrat as Nebraska's 2nd district congressman isn't unheard of, but not too common. Prior to Ashford's election, Lee Terry, a Republican from Omaha Nebraska, held his position as congressman from 1999 to 2014. With these past political views, Bacon's reelection wouldn't come as a surprise to many. If Bacon sticks with his republican views he could appeal to a large enough population to secure his reelection.

Top Issues:

Bacon on three major issues:
  1. Terrorism
    • "We are barely containing Isis. We need to defeat Isis with assertive leadership, our superior airpower, and special forces."
  2. Government Spending
    • "I support a balanced budget amendment. We need elected officials who will fix this terrible problem."
  3. Illegal Immigration
    • "I support employer enforcement when it comes to hiring illegals. This is the root cause of out illegal immigration problem."

Other Issues:

  • Does not support altering or reducing Social Security for those who are currently in or near retirement
  • Supports a strong national defense
  • Pro-life and will defend traditional family values
  • Committed to reducing taxes and simplifying the tax code
  • Don will repeal Obamacare and work to reduce health-care costs with free market solutions
  • Don will maintain our commitment to veterans and reform the veterans administration
  • Work to balance the budget and reduce spending
  • Work to eliminate burdensome regulations and cut bureaucratic red tape
  • Oppresses common core and will support local control of school
